"Nearly all biochemical, physiological and regulatory processes depend on protein-protein interactions. Their dynamics and strength is crucial and even subtle difference often results in disease. Our knowledge about these events is mostly based on studies from cellular extracts and from experiments which include procedures that also affect interactions in question. One of the challenges in current biology is to develop strategies for monitoring protein-protein interaction in vivo, in real time and optimally in relevant animal tissue. In this project we will utilize and further develop such technique in genetic and molecular model organism Drosophila melanogaster.
