The aim of the project is to further characterize the molecular forms of gamma-tubulin bound to membranes and microtubules and their protein interactions. Characterization of the newly identified gamma-tubulin interactors with putative role in membrane trafficking should elucidate functions of gamma-tubulin complexes in temporal and spatial coordination of nuclear division and cytokinetic events as revealed by gamma-tubulin RNAi. Our preliminary data showed that several forms of gamma-tubulin are phoshorylated.
