"The aim is to find reliable methods of preparation and stabilization of transition metal clusters of subnanometer and nanometer size inside the zeolite matrix (mostly faujasites and MCM-41 zeolites) from carbonyl polynuclear precursors of definite nuclearity (nuclearity of precursors 6-40, metals: Pt, then Rh, partially Os). This includes learning the chemistry of this process and studies of the origin of chemisorptive and catalytical properties of the new systems. The latter topic will concern the interaction with hydrogen, oxygen (including spillover effect), hydroisomeration of n.butane and n-hexane, and CO+NO reaction. These catalytic reactions occur at relatively low temperatures (usually at 200-400oC) which prevens undesirable additional sintering of the metallic clusters. Methods to be employed are: spectroscopic - UV-VIS, FTIR, XPS, microscopic . TEM and AFM, and transient catalytic measurements - MS and FTIR combination."@en .
