"In capillary electrophoresis, the system zones are migrating disturbances in the composition of the background electrolyte used. The interference of the migrating system zones with the zones of analytes is fatal for correct and sensitive detection, and, thus, for the analytical results at all. It has been published recently that system zones are formec even in simple two components buffers. The theory describing and explaining this fact is missing. Thus, the possibility to predict suitable operational regions (analytical windows) for the most useful buffers is missing, too. The goal of this project is to elaborate the related theory which describes both the formation and the migration behavior of the system zones. Further, it will bring in a comprehensive investigation of the above mentioned phenomena and define suitable analytical windows in most useful background electrolytes."@en .
