"Attempts will be made to fill the existing gap in the knowledge of redox and interfacial properties of DNA and RNA on one hand and their monomeric components on the other hand. The results will be utilized in further development of the nucleic acid modified electrodes and in application of these electrodes in molecular-biological research. It is further proposed to develop a simple fast response system for the detection of various kind of the DNA damage induced by chemical agents, such as mutagens,carcinogens and anticancer drugs.
