Studies of, so far, a small part of the human genome indicate that it contains thousands of sequences prone to tetraplex formation. In this project, we wuggest to examine selected series of DNA fragments and formulate rules according to their behavior for a prediction of nucleotide sequences and the solution conditions leading to monomolecular or bimolecular tetraplex formation. These rules will eliminate discrepancies existing in the literature and result in a better understanding of principles of tetraplex formation. Using these rules we will find nucleotide sequences in the human genome prone to tetraplex formation. Some of the sequences will be subjected to experimental tests to check how the tetraplex prediction rules work."@en . . . .
