"Observations of the solar photosphere make possible to study turbulent, convective, and ordered motions of a high-density plasma and its interactions with a strong magnetic field under conditions unreachable in terrestrial laboratories. Using time-series of images and two-dimensional spectroscopy with high spatial resolution we wish to find the essential characteristics of these processes. The project is focussed to the studies of umbra, penumbra, and light bridges in sunspots using semi-empirical models including magnetic and velocity fields, to the studies of small-scale effects taking place at the borders umbra-penumbra and penumbra-photosphere, and to the dynamics of granules and magnetic elements in the vicinity of sunspots and solar pores. The obtained results should contribute to understand the complex magneto-hydrodynamical system of a sunspot and to broaden the experimental basis used for a further development of theoretical models of astrophysical plasma."@en . .
