"The project is focused on detailed explanation of phenomena due to stress wave propagation in cylindrical shells with varying curvature. A general analytical solution does not exist, therefore we pay attention to experimental-numerical strategy. A special attention will be devoted to the impact geometry and to the phenomena causing the signal propagation distorsion. The impact will be generated by exploding wires or by focused laser beam. Double pulse holointerferometry will be used to record the propagating waves. The displacement and velocity history will be detected by the acoustic emission transducers as well. Combining holointerferometry and acoustic emission method we shall get a very powerful diagnostic method for both qualitative and quantitative experimental results interpretation. Numerical analysis will be carried out in parallel. The aim of the computational part of the project is the analysis of the space and time discretization accuracy."@en . "IAA2076904" . . .
