"The precision of lasers stabilized by saturated subdoppler spectroscopy in molecular iodine is limited by many factors. The principal one are absolute values of optical frequencies of transitions in iodine that are effected by presence of impurities. The aim of the project is related to the technology of iodine absorption cell manufacturing developed in the group of the proposer and is intended to create an experimental basis for determination of the relations between iodine purity and absolute center frequency and its shifts from the theoretical values. Two independed experimental methods are proposed and their results will be evaluated and comared. It is expected that the experimental methodology and collected data would help to improve the cell technology and will be of a great significance not only for laboratoires currently using our cells but also for everyone in this field who is pushing the precision and stability limit of iodine-based stabilized laser systems further on."@en .
