"The structure analysis of aperiodic crystals was for a long time a domain of small number of highly specialised laboratories. The situation changed at nineties due to the growing number of practical applications. Now the structure analysis of simple aperiodic structures is practised in many laboratories all over the world. The work on a large scale poses new claims to the specialized software, which should enable to solve a simple aperiodic structure without deep knowledge of the theory. It is essentially fulfilled in JANA98, which is currently one of the leading systems in the field. There still remains, however, the problem that the resulting structure data cannot be directly visualized by any accessible plotting software as the structure isdescribed in 3+D space.
