The investigations are carried out very intesively abroad nowadays, whereas our specialized studies show some gaps. Family, institutions and madia of mass-culture and -entertainment play the greatest role in the lives of present-day children. We have discovered, however, in the course of our ethnological investigations that a considerable portion of free time as well as of cultural awareness of today,s pupils and students is filled even with phenomena which are based on direct, personal communication. The phenomena belong to the sphere of folklore, or they are close to those of folk culture in their nature.
