In the favourable conditions, members of the genus Gyrodactylus are able to multiplicate in very short time and become a serious pathogen not only in fish farm but also under natural conditions. Proposed project is focused on the searching for the diversity of African monogeneans in the unstudied area, with an orientantion on members of the family Gyrodactylidae. The knowledge on monogenean parasites, their biodivesity and host-parasites relationship will become a valuable information what could find practical application by the local\u00A0 fancier in the prevention and early pathogen identification. The needs of searching alimentation source for the local people, the importance of the fish farms in African countries will\u00A0 increase in short period. From theoretical point of view, study of phylogenetic relationship of till unstudied African monogeneans will bring undoubtebly new insight on known phylogenetic affinities within the family Gyrodactylidae."@en .
