"In a collisionless plasma of the Earth's magnetosphere, electromagnetic waves represent a unique way of energy transfer. They can act on long distances and significantly affect distribution functions of individual plasma species. The aim of this project is to provide better understanding of some of the wave phenomena observed in the inner Earth's magnetosphere by DEMETER and Cluster spacecraft. We focus on very low frequency waves (up to 20 kHz), which when represented in a traditional form of frequency-time spectrogram have a form of several parallel and nearly equidistant intense lines, so-called line radiation. It turns out that there are several different types of these waves. However, except for power line harmonic radiation, their generation mechanisms are still not understood. We analyze individual types of line radiation. We describe their properties and most favorable conditions for their occurrence. We use advanced methods of wave analysis to find out the source regions of these events. We discuss possible generation mechanisms."@en . . . . . .
