Tuning properties of particular Cu/zeolite is key for obtaining appropriate system for considered process and often relates to character of cations located in extraframework positions. Within this work, particular factors influencing the copper siting in zeolites, as ion exchange procedure, reduction of Cu(II) to Cu(I) ions, and following treatment methods, will be tested. Established indirect techniques for Cu(I) cations characterization as H2-TPR, CO-TPD, FTIR of probe molecules will be combined with microcalorimetry and volumetry of selected molecules H2, N2, CO and noble gas Xe. Newly, appropriate techniques and probe molecules for determination also of Cu(II) sites will be studied. The distribution, stability and adsorption properties of individual Cu cations in zeolite will be investigated in dependence on well defined sample preparation.
