"This project deals with a research of detection properties of one-dimensional (1-D) conductive polymers structures, particularly with their two main representatives - polypyrrole and polyaniline. The project is divided into three years, in which there will be systematical and detail research of detection limits, sensitivities, phase sensitivities and dynamic material properties measured during exposure of an atmosphere. By changes in equivalent electrical circuits of materials there will be designated detection mechanisms of oxidizing and reducing gases, volatile polar organic vapors and water vapor. The project is based on current methods of 1-D structures synthesis by the so-called soft template; it also proposes the procedures required to optimize their properties, including an unique approach to develop their own testing layer by Matrix Assisted Pulsed Laser Evaporation.
