"The contents of the project is the basic research of the impact of the effects of frequently occurring and less investigated wood-damaging fungi (species of the Coniophora, Trametes, Gloeophyllum, Stereum genera) on mechanical properties of wooden structural elements. Changes in mechanical and physical properties will be determined depending on four tree species, several wood-damaging fungi species and the duration of their impact. Experiments will be carried out on specimens prepared from the new construction wood and wood obtained from structural elements of existing structures exposed to the effects of selected wood-damaging fungi under laboratory conditions. Changes in material properties will be described based on the results of the experimental and standard tests of mechanical properties of wood (compression, tensile, bending, hardness and shear tests) and on the measurements by instruments for non-destructive testing of materials."@en . .
