The main idea of the proposed method is in the best alignment between the emission spectrum of the femtosecond laser and the transmission spectrum of the Fabry-Perot interferometer by cross-correlation technique followed by Fourier transform calculation. On basis of the calculated spectrum shape the control loop of the femtosecond laser fixes the repetition frequency to the Fabry-Perot cavity length. This lock gives very fixed relation between the length of the cavity and the repetition frequency which is measured by the frequency counter.
