"The repeated use of Cu-fungicides resulted in the accumulation of copper in vineyard and hop field soils. This project will present a detailed study of the range and degree of copper contamination in selected vineyard and hop field soils, together with the use of copper isotopes as tracers of environmental pollution. Furthermore, it will evaluate the process of chemically enhanced phytoextraction of copper from contaminated vineyard soils. The biodegradable chelating agent EDDS (ethylenediaminedisuccinic acid) is due to its high affinity to copper a suitable mobilizing agent for chemically enhanced phytoextraction. In batch experiments, the effect of different application regimes of EDDS on metal mobility will be assessed. Different concentrations of EDDS will be applied in single and split doses. The phytoextraction efficiency of poplar (Populus sp.) after the application of EDDS will be assessed using pot experiments. During the pot experiment, changes of copper (and"@en . . . . . .
