The purpose of this project is to investigate development of respiratory tract immune system functions in piglets in postnatal period and possibilities of their positive stimulation, particularly a) to obtain information on the penetration rate of antigen-specific colostral antibodies (antibodies against model antigen-keyhole limpet hemocyanin) to respiratory tract mucosa in piglets, the dynamics of their decrease in comparison with the dynamics of their levels in piglet serum, b) to extend knowledge of postnatal development of respiratory tract ability to give immune response to local administration of model antigen and c) to study effect of colostral antibodies (in serum and on respiratory tract mucosa) on the development of respiratory tract ability to give immune response to local administration of model antigen or a possibility to get over the effect of these antibodies by the"@en .
