"This project focuses on the adaptation/integration of second and 1,5 generation foreigners in the Czech Republic and investigates whether these minorities are assimilating/integrating or separating/segregating. The research is divided into several mutually complementary parts. The theoretical part is concentrated on adaptation, integration and assimilation. The empirical part is based on questionnaire surveys and interviews, with the quota sample respondents. The focused sample (3083 children of foreigners attending kindergartens in the Czech Republic) will be approximately 200 children from Prague and approximately 600 children from the other regions. The research will also be provided by the children's parents and kindergarten teachers. The results should reveal the adaptation problems of children, particularly the adaptation of whole family into the Czech society and bring attention up on particular adaptation steps (cultural, social, political and economic integration).
