"The project is aimed at evaluating the possible effect of polymorphisms in CD14 and TLR4 genes on the etiopathogenesis of atopic diseases as a whole and/or of separate diagnose (asthma bronchiale, allergic rhinitis and atopic dermatitis), as well as assessing the contribution of individual gene polymorphisms or their combinations to the expression of intermediary markers in these diseases. The proposed genes will be studied in terms of their existing polymorphisms (especially polymorphisms in regulatory sequences and variants whose relationship to the levels of the corresponding products is well known). In addition, established techniques will be employed to detect novel polymorphisms. According to the occurrence of the pathological changes, the experimental subjects will be divided in several groups: manifested atopic disease (with subgroups according to organ manifestations) and patients without allergy - control group.
