"Ophiostomatoid fungi (Ascomycota) belong to organisms occurring in woody plants, usually in association with bark beetles. Some of these fungi are pathogens of trees. Ophiostomatoid fungi are investigated in many parts of the world including the Czech Republic. Till now, in CR the ophiostomatoid fungi have been predominantly identified no more than on the genus level up to the present. The aim of the project is to determinate the species spectrum of this fungi on the CR territory, contribute to knowledge of their ecology and to the solving of some taxonomical problems. The study will be based on isolation of the fungi from various substrates (especially from bark beetles and trees), re-examination of cultures and herbarium specimens of proposerand from other sources, and identification of ophiostomatoid fungi.
