The Cephalopds which can be found in the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin (BCB) represent an important component of fauna with thehighest stratigraphic potential. It is necessary to complete the stratigraphic and taxonomic evaluation of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin cephalopods (mainly ammonites) in oder to conduct further research, because to introducing ammonite zones to the BCBwill create ways for the stratigraphic correlation at different sites worldwide. There are important research projects presently being done in the BCB - the global eustatic cycles. Of these, the highest priority is on an accurate stratigraphicclassification of individual sedimentary units, their position in a global stratigraphic scale that is based on ammonite zoning.
