"The project is focused on the problem of analysis and detection physiologically important compounds exhibiting antioxidant effects using high-performance liquid chromatography combined with coulometric detection. Coulometric detection represents an exceptionally powerful and progressive analytical tool for selective and ultra-sensitive detection of this type of compounds. The main aim is to find optimal conditions for the separation of phenolic acids, their identification and quantitation in extracts of pharmacologically interesting plants. An analytical method applicable to their monitoring in more complex matrices will be developed whereas the main accent will be put on the minimum additional operations done with the sample prior to analysis.
