"Study of electrode reaction kinetic on carbon-based electrodes with respect to the electrode functionalization and morphology"@en . "The project is focused on the study of electrochemical activity of carbon based materials towards vanadium redox couples reactions with respect to the electrode surface composition and structure. Vanadium redox couples are selected as a model electrochemical system allowing the measurements in a wide range of potentials, pH and concentrations. A broad range of carbon-based materials, including graphite, glassy carbon, graphene and its modifications will be examined with respect to the electrochemical reversibility for a given system and the emphasized attention will be focused on the precision of electrochemical measurements under well-defined electrode potential and mass-transport conditions. Electrochemical system characterization will be followed by the detailed physicochemical analysis of electrodes surface by selected characterization techniques (FT-IR, XPS, XRD, SEM, Raman, AFM). Such a complex approach aims to contribute for the closer insight into the general principles of electro-activity and surface structure interaction."@en . .
