"The proposed project is oriented to effect of plasma DBD actuator on a boundary layer. Cases of zero-pressure-gradient boundary layer on flat plate and on curved surface (\u201Chump\u201D) are to be considered. Experimental approach has been chosen, application of optical methods (PIV) is supposed. Effect of the plasma actuator working parameters (supply voltage, modulation frequency) on structure and quality of resulting boundary layer flow will be studied for various boundary conditions (incoming boundary layer thickness and structure). The results will be compared with the base case without actuation and with other control strategies (e.g. synthetic jet actuator).
