While keeping general applicability of the methods, attention will be given to the catalysts for conversion of exhaust gases. The aim is to develop a methodology that will be able to describe, predict and optimise overall performance of the catalyst in dependence on the properties of the porous structure on micro- and nano-scale. The principles: 1) digital reconstruction of porous catalyst structure; 2) modelling of diffusion and reaction in the reconstructed porous catalyst, microkinetics including the effects of catalytic site type and supporting particle; 3) simulations at different scales, combination of the results, comparison with the results of experiments and simplified overall model of catalyst.
