"An aim of the project is obtaining information about the behaviour of joints in timber structures with glued steel rods and enable their wider using in Czech Republic. It is concerned of joints of embened columns (via fastened foot plate), semirigidframejoints and hinged joints, where steel rods are transfering only shear and axial forces. In present is available only one document for design of this type of joints. It is the preliminary version of design code for timber structures (in new versionof eur ocode 1995 -1 - 1 it is in annex A: Joints Connections with glued-in steel rods). In present time is working on this research several European universities and research institutes and there is a chance to ally to this research. Problems, which arecoming into existence is possible to divide into several parts: bearing capacity of steel rods in different types of strain and bearing capacity of timber in crushing strength, which is developed in the compression zone of the joint.
