"The main objective of the project is the research of new circuits and control algorithms of semiconductor power converters for renewable and ecological power supplies, based on the VSCF technology (Variable Speed-Constant Frequency). These systems of VSCF operate with variable speed of motor (wind turbine) driving synchronous generator with permanent magnets or asynchronous generator. Output voltage and frequency of the generator are variable and must be converted to constant value (usually 3x400 V/50 Hz) by means of voltage and frequency converters. Proposed project is related to the results of GACR project No. 102/03/0795 and suitably completes it in the area of power electronics. Renewable and ecological power supplies are alternative to classical energy sources. The proposed project is aimed to the use of mechatronic approach to the optimum connection of the power semiconductor converters with the synchronous or asynchronous generator.
