"Residential ventilation has a significant impact to both quality of indoor environment (indoor air quality, thermal comfort) and energy consumption in residential buildings. The proposed project is aimed at the utilization of solar chimneys in residential hybrid ventilation. A highly sophisticated demand controlled hybrid ventilation system has been developed within the framework of the RESHYVENT project (a project of the EU 5th framework). Two solar chimneys have been added to the ventilationsystem concept at the Department of Thermodynamics and Environmental Engineering and the system will be installed in a low energy demonstration house built in the campus of the Brno University of Technology. Main goal of this project is to investigate the performance of the hybrid ventilation system employing solar chimneys under the climatic conditions of the Czech Republic.
