"We propose a concerted action of 3 institutions - Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University, Institute of Physics and Institute of Nuclear Research of the Academy of Sciences in modern education of PhD students in physics of complex matter. The key objective is upgrading the standard of postgraduate education by involving the best doctoral students under supervision of the most experienced researchers and teachers. Selected students will be strongly involved in joint research activities of the collaborating institutions. In the project framework, specials seminars will be organized focusing on both hot scientific topics and complementary education touching philosophical and social questions linked with the contemporary science. Cooperation with leading foreign institutions and arrangement of educational stays of students abroad represent significant aspects of the project. 14 supervisors and 20 students have been proposed to participate in the project.
