"The project aims to analyze the rate of inequality in conditions of teaching and learning in various types of schools (academic and non academic tracks) and with emphasis on schools serving disadvantaged students. We will emphasize inequity in teacher quality and school climate. The proposed project is follow-up to main principals\u2019 previous quantitative international surveys on equity in schools (International Equity in Education Survey). In the first year of the project we will enrich findings from previous quantitative surveys by qualitative study of school equity as viewed by pupils and their teachers (using in-depth interviews and focus-groups). In the second year we will administer teacher questionnaires in schools that will participate in PISA 2012 study and we will measure teacher self-efficacy and collective efficacy, as well as other measures of teacher quality.
