"The main aim of the project is to generalize models of operational research assuming fixed input data into the form which would enable incorporation of instability, inexactness, limited knowledge, uncertainty and/or changes in conditions into the models. Three main methodological tools are: probabilistic approach, interval-algebraic approach and fuzzy approach. The project should study generalizations of optimization models, should provide new definitions of optimal behavior of a decision maker under uncertainty or instability and should analyze sensitivity of the models to changes. The project should also provide complexity-theoretic treatment of the problems, should suggest new algorithms and/or heuristic and approximate algorithms. The research should be of both theoretical and applied nature. The theoretical part of the research is focused on optimization methods used in operational research.
