"Previously, we identified 120 kDa nuclear protein as a unique myosin 1C form (NM1).\u00A0After that, we have shown that NM1 and actin are required for transcription by RNA polymerases I and II, and described that NM1 binds to TIFIA transcription factor of RNA polymerase I which is connected with regulation of cellular metabolism. This project aims to reveal further details about biological functions of NM1 in DNA transcription and in cellular/tissue metabolism using a panel of molecular biology and genetic approaches.
