"microRNA preeclampsia IUGR real-time PCR plasma trophoblast"@en . . . . "MicroRNAs (miRNAs) belong to a family of small non-coding RNAs (18-25 nucleotides) that regulate gene expression at the posttranscriptional level by degrading or blocking translation of messenger RNA (mRNA) targets. Recent studies revealed the presence of some microRNAs in peripheral blood of pregnant women and demonstrated their rapid clearance from maternal circulation after delivery. We assume that placental insufficiency related pregnancy complications (preeclampsia and intrauterine growth restriction - IUGR) may be characterized by unique up-regulated and down-regulated placenta-specific microRNAs profile which are released into maternal circulation in a form of apoptotic bodies. We hypothesized that presence and the levels of individual placenta-specific microRNAs in maternal circulation may differ between physiological and pathological pregnancies within the same gestational age. We assume that it may be feasible to monitor specific placental derived microRNAs in maternal circulation of those pregnant women at high risk of severe preeclampsia and IUGR."@en . "The project describes expression profile of 15 C19MC miRNAs in the maternal circulation during gestation. Decreased levels of several miRNAs predict gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, and fetal growth restriction. Simultaneous testing of 6 selected miRNAs reliably predicts preeclampsia already in the first trimester. These data have been published and could be included in a clinical trial."@en . "2"^^ . . .
