"renin-angiotensin system sympathetic nervous system nitric oxid blood pressure control antihypertensive therapy"@en . "2015-12-31+01:00"^^ . . "1"^^ . "It is evident that renin-angiotensin system (RAS), sympathetic nervous system (SNS), nitric oxide (NO) and reactive oxygen species (ROS) are involved in the pathogenesis of both human and experimental hypertension. Because mutual RAS-SNS-NO-ROS interactions participating in blood pressure control are still not completely understood, our aim is to evaluate the interaction of particular vasoactive systems at various levels of the organism and to estimate their contribution to the observed abnormalities. We shall study the effects of peripheral vs. central RAS blockade (by immunization against AT1 receptors vs. icv infusion of losartan), early and late sympathectomy (before the onset vs. after the stabilization of hypertension), angiotensin II/ROS-induced Gi protein upregulation vs. Gi protein inactivation by pertussis toxin and chronic antihypertensive or antioxidant therapy at prehypertensive and hypertensive stages. Obtained results will contribute to better understanding of mechanisms controlling vascular tone and will facilitate the targeting of pathophysiological processes."@en . . . . . "0"^^ . "24"^^ .
