"0"^^ . . "Blind Source Separation (BSS) aims at recovering original signals from their observable mixtures without knowing the original signals nor the mixing system. Latent Variable Analysis is a general approach encompassing powerful and progressive\u00A0methods for BSS such as Independent Component Analysis (ICA), Sparse Component Analysis (SCA), or Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF). The need is to assume little about the original signals so that the assumptions are fulfilled in most real-world situations. This could be, for example, the independence, sparsity, non-negativity, etc. The general aim of this project is the extension of existing methods for BSS involving LVA approaches and the development of new ones. The application area will be mainly in audio and speech signal processing, namely, speech separation, speech enhancement, blind dereverberation, and the number of sources estimation. The project should help to publish novel results achieved by the team, to support collaborations and communications with other teams from abroad, and to extend the team by new co-workers, especially, by PhD students."@en . . .
