"MRI is a constantly developing region of medicine, which is suitable for the study of soft tissues. The current methodologies for obtaining images weighted by relaxation times give only an idea of the distribution of soft tissues. Considerable attention is being devoted to the research into methods which will enable distinguishing between individual types of nidus. This leads to perfusion imaging, based on dynamic imaging of the tissue of interest. The project will be concerned with the research of methods for analysing MR image data obtained by perfusion and diffusion measurements. Further items will include: establishing the arterial input function, analysis of perfusion parameters, 3D analysis of diffusion tensor, creating a model for analysis of multi-parameter MR images, unification of images scanned by different techniques, segmentation of tumour with calculation of its volume, separate segmentation of areas of the tumour, design of a technique for determining the mask of tumour parts. A method of detection and extraction of tumors in 2D MR images of brain was proposed. The results were tested on 45 patients.
