"The aim of this project is a study of woody plants growing in polluted areas of Ore Mountains, elucidation their %22mode of action%22 (tolerant/accumulating) and utilization of obtained results for selection of aspen clones most suitable for phytoremediationand phytostabilization of polluted areas. For this task following steps are necessary: Search for new tolerant and/or (hyper)accumulating plants in metal polluted soils. Quantify the selectivity and uptake rates of toxic metals into whole plants and plant cells Unravel the compartmentation and storage sites of toxic metals. Characterization of molecules involved in metal transport in plants.
