"Space-temporal vegetation pattern of alluvial meadows will be studied together with some aspects of nutrient balance, and general principles will be proposed. The role of floodplains as nutrients trap will be evaluated. Earlier (from the seventies and eighties) and new exact data on vegetation structure and on annual dynamics of nutrient concentrations especially in the ground water will be compared. It enables to evaluate how changes in the management after 1989 are reflected in the vegetation dynamics and nutrient balance in the studied floodplains. Moreover, vegetation changes of alluvial meadows and amount of nutrients in transported sediments after long-term flooding will be evaluated in permanent study sites. A particular role of periphyton in trapping nutrients during prolonged floods will be investigated. A prediction of the dynamics of alluvial meadows will be proposed, including suggestions on an appropriate management, being acceptable for both agriculturists, and nature"@en . .
