The toxic and most frequently occurring phthalates include the lipophilic di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) and di-n-butyl phthalate which were demonstrated by analyses done in our laboratory in feed mixtures for pigs, porcine lipid tissue, and foods of animal origin. PAE have been demonstrated in all compartments of the environment and therefore pose a serious ecological and health problem.
