"Although it is known that regulators of hemopoiesis and immunity, i.e. cytokines, polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) and their metabolites eicosanoids operate within a network, their effects are studied mostly separately. The proposal represents aunified finalization of the previous work of the applicant and brings a more complex comparative approach using promyelocytic cell lines - bipotent HL-60 and NB4 or promonocytic U-937. Principally new goals were established in order to contribute toanswering more general questions aimed to understanding of 1) mechanisms of effects of n-3 and n-6 PUFAs and inhibitors of their metabolism, 2) the role of cytokines TGF-beta 1 and TNF-alpha in regulation of proliferation and apoptosis in hemopoieticcells differentiating into granulocytes or monocytes.
