Mechanism of cold acclimation still remains to be elucidated. Comparison of the cold response of frost resistant, winter cv. of Triticum monococcum (G3116), frost susceptible spring cv. (DV92) and their recombinant lines will enable to characterize changes in plant hormone levels connected with cold acclimation. Content of stress hormones abscisic acid, salicylic acid, ethylene (via its precursor ACC) will be followed, together with hormones essential for cell division and growth (cytokinins and auxin). The characterization of the frost response +/- acclimation will include determination of the stress survival, photosynthetic parametres, quantification of the expression of selected genes (TmCBF12, TmCBF14, TmCBF15 and COR14b), comparison of 2D-protein spectra and monitoring of the level of osmoprotectant proline."@en . .
