Certain compounds with slow degradation can be accumulated in the soil, and subsequently in plant products. They also bring problems for a farmer since herbicide residues can damage crops which are sown afterwards. One of important processes of herbicide residue dynamics, particularly considering environmental aspects, is their movement to lower soil layers and leaching into ground water. Physicochemical methods of herbicide determination are sensitive and precious but biological methods can determine the real biological effect of herbicide amounts present in the sample.The aim of the project is to develop methodology for bioassay of residues of the most important herbicides in soil to determine the danger for subsequent crops. The other important goal is the adaptation of the existing biosensor systems for detection of herbicide residues in soil extracts and liquid samples. We want to monitor (i) the"@en .
