"The aim of the project is verification of molecular markers, i.e. of dehydrins and COR-proteins, for barley tolerance to drought and cold stress. Identification and distinction will be proved in 1)dry grains and in germinating grains; 2)per se; 3)after application of ABA; 4)at psi = -0,5MPa; 5) at psi = -0,5MPa and temperature till 10 degrees Celsius; 6) at ABA, psi = -0,5MPa and till 10 degrees Celsius. Occurrence of the markers will be evaluated in winter/spring varieties and in different varieties. Hybrids of winter with spring varieties will be screened for winterhardiness and the character will be compared with the markers proved. Their occurrence will be compared with other important traits, also in wheat and maize. The traits will be evaluatedin many locations of official variety trials. Quantitative and qualitative limits will be proposed for screening of lines and candivars."@en .
