The proposed project will be concentrated on the detection of deoxynivalenol /DON/, T2 toxin, fumonisins and zearalenon /ZEA/. The content of mycotoxins will be studied in naturally infected tissues and also after artificial infection with strongly pathogenic isolates of the fungus. Because the toxin content does not necessarily have to follow the level of resistance and pathogenicity of Fusarium species, the genotype x environmental effects on accumulation of toxins in selected varieties, differing in resistance to disease attack, will be examined and resistance of varieties classified in relation to accumulation of toxin.
