"A four-year project should concentrate on description of working and relevance of the so-called sifting work, screenings and purges in 1948-1989 Czechoslovakia. This inseparable part of the CPCz efforts to control the entire society that penetrated many levels into the more or less common and self-evident practice of the real socialism, has been so far rather neglected by historians. Our project aims to map fundamentally these phenomena, to present them in a concrete space and in concrete situations, to follow the changes that they were gradually taking place,\u00A0as well as to appreciate what was their meaning for the involved actors.
