Together with cytosolic glycerophosphate dehydrogenase, mGPDH forms the glycerophosphate shuttle, which represents a direct link between glycolysis andrespiratory chain. Expression of mGPDH is highly tissue specific and its activity is regulated by various cytosolic factors.
