The proposed project would like to address to this problem by studying how the proteins that apparently play an important role in the cell signalling cross-talk, are regulated in normal and v-src-transformed mammalian cells. In the activation of p70S6k protein kinase, catalyzing phosphorylation of the S6 ribosomal protein, separate inputs are involved as it is indicated by selective inhibition of some of its upstream activators by the immunosuppressant rapamycin. We shall examine regulatory mechanisms employed in p70S6k signalling pathway and its involvement in the control of mRNA translation in normal and v.src-transformefibroblasts.
