Because of the signal regularity, their dynamics are extensively used as models for studying delayed regulation in mammalian populations. Regulation of this kind results from interactions either within population (intraspecific) or those with populations of other organisms (interspecific), such as predator, food resource and pathogen. Ecological interactions that determine feedback structure become central to current research. We propose to investigate relevant intraspecific and interspecific interactions operating in natural populations of the common vole (Microtus arvalis). The study of intraspecific interactions focuses on estimation of demographic parameters in two populations (capture-recapture supplemented by telemetry).
